Easter Is Almost Here - He Is Risen!

If you haven't heard.. We have a brand new easter print He Is Risen which is our April Print of The Month!

I love how Kelly chose to display the print in the dining room/kitchen/living area.  The rooms where everyone gathers to celebrate Easter.  He is Risen is indeed the reason we are celebrating:)

Here is the mantle in my living room! I really like that on a 12x12 size print you can read it from across the room or as soon as you walk in the front door - it is the focal point of the mantle.

We loved the print so much we also made it into notecards!!  Do you send Easter card?  I typically don't - but I think I will this year:)!  The notecards are 5x5 size flat on a watercolor paper and come in sets of 5, the back of the card says Hallelujah!  Perfect for pinning up, framing, on your fridge with a magnet and of course sending to just about anyone you can think of : )

My Beloved, Me and a Blank Wall

So I have never placed anything permanently above our bed.  I love this space. The walls in the rest of the house are full of family photos but I wanted something meaningful and specific to my husband and I in this spot.   It has been great to photograph different prints like . . Hope is an Anchor to the Soul

or Two are Better than One Set of 2

But this past fall when we had photos taken for Christmas cards we also had some taken of just Tim and I.  Love, Love LoVE how they turned out and knew right away these would go in the space above the bed.  But how?  and since I love to display scripture  . . an idea began to form in my mind. . .

I "shopped the house" best advice ever from the Nester and remembered how much I loved this empty frame that has been sitting in the basement junk room for 6 years.

Designed a new print around Song of Solomon 5:16 My Beloved My Friend in 12x12 gallery wrap canvas.  I  thought about I am my Beloved's but decided that My Beloved My Friend fit better with these particular photos:)

Chose 2 favorite images from our session with 2 of the most amazing photographers ever - Ben and Mindy from Studio 6-23

Had them printed at Color Inc - simply the BEST online photo lab!  The sizes I got were 18x24 and 11x14 both mounted on stand-out (which is what RedLetterWords uses for their Cafe Mount Art Prints!)

My dad stopped over quite conveniently and just looked like he needed a project:)  So he hung up the empty frame for me and helped me space out the rest.  Thanks Dad!!

 

I LOVE THIS!!  It's almost done . . .

I am thinking of adding something in the space between the scripture print and the vertical far away print - maybe a red heart on a longish string hanging from a cute little vintagey hook??

I totally hope this inspired you to think of what scripture you would like on your wall!!  What do you think?

Got Wall Space?

When you walk into our house from the front door you look to the right is my office and to the left is the dining game room.  Immediately in front of you is the stairway. We have lived in our house for 8 years.  To me, this wall is a focal point when anyone comes in the front door.  There is also a big window above our front door so you can see this wall before you even come in the house.

We had a big clock there that was really cute when we first bought it.  Then somehow. . . it got not cute anymore.  I know that if my mom reads this she will be cringing at my grammar.  Sorry!!  I thought it best expressed my point that way:)

Anyway, when we had these pictures taken of the kids I had no wall space.  And since the clock was no longer cute, it got moved to the basement.

Voila!  Wall Space!!  Here is the view up the stairs now when you walk into our house . . .

We pray this scripture over the kids every night thanking God that They are growing in wisdom and favor between God and man.

 

These pictures are 2 years old now.  (Yes, we just hung them up a few months ago:)  They've changed a bit, but the Word hasn't.  They are growing in wisdom and favor every day between God and man.  Luke 2:52.

Christmas Tour of Homes 2010

Nester is having a Christmas Tour of Homes 2010!   I am soo excited to join the party!!  There is fabulous decorating there!  Here are a few shots from around the house!

The mantle . . . Glass jars collected over the years, stocking hangers from Pottery Barn.  Gallery Wrap Canvas from RedLetterWords (really?:)  And here is my top secret super decorating tip . . just for you . . . I decorate with Red candles at Christmas because I can leave them up until after Valentines Day and Nobody Knows!!:)  Except you.

My daughter set up all our nativity sets.  This is one of our favorites!

And in the entryway a wreath on a table with a hurricane candle in the middle.  Easy.

Call Me Neutral Girl . . .

So most of you know that I started to create prints for my own house.  Black was the best for my space.  To keep things simple, I continued to make prints with different scriptures in black.  But then I there was another space and scripture that black wasn't quite right for.  Hannah's Prayer was originally created as a baby gift for my friend and I made it in chocolate brown.  What followed were more and more requests for brown prints.  Then on select prints came red, pink, apple green, deninm and gray.

Guess What??  We are taking your suggestions and adding Brown and Gray color options to ALL the prints that are currently in black.  Its a big project!!:)  Currently a work in progress . . . BUT

Here's how As for me and my house looks in Black . . .

Beauty In Her Heart And In Her Home!

Happy Day!  

We are so excited to feature todays dream room with you!  Traci from Beneath My Heart has graciously shared her dream space with us!  Traci is a pro at making blah... Beautiful!  She is such an inspiration to so many.. she has dedicated her site to teaching us practical lessons on really great stuff like how to transform a simple room into a  Master Bedroom Makeover *** fab** she even teaches us how to bake ....hold your breath.....Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins okay.. exhale!!!  I am making these tonight..

One of the cornerstones to what inspires Traci is her belief in striving for a beautiful heart as she encourages us to join together to strive to follow Him and His plan for our lives.  I love this verse Traci expressed as having an impact on her life and what is truly important in the eyes of our Lord!

Traci has 4 boys so she chose one of our new prints for her boys dream room!  Joshua 1:9 this print is such a great scripture!  Joshua 1:9 comes in our 12x12 cafe mount, 12x12 gallery wrap, 20x20 cafe mount, and our 20x20 gallery wrap and it comes in FIVE fabulous colors to fit that special area of your home!  This room is so darling its quite possibly the cutest boys room ever!!

Love Anything Creative?

We LOVE anything creative!  Whether through color, words, construction or just overall brilliantly unique..there are so many ways to be creative and we so appreciate the unique gifts God has given each of us.

It is time to debut another wonderfully decorated dream room done by the talented Miss Traci of Ordinary Inspirations .  She has inspired us through words, recipes, crafts and overall life tips! Like How To Please Your Husband ..... what a great list of suggestions! :)  

Traci chose three of our prints and demonstrated how lovely and creative you can easily make a wall into an inspiration piece!  My House Modern is gorgeous in gray and turquoise.. we love the size of the print being one of our larger rectangle prints it comes in 3 sizes!! an 11x14, 20x30 and a huge 30x40!!.. this is coupled with two smaller square prints Hope Is An Anchor To The Soul (which also comes with a pretty yellow flower) and Two Are Better Than One.  

The contrast of gray and blue in the prints along with creatively using different print sizes works so well in this room to add dimension!  It is understated and elegant.  Traci is wonderfully creative..

Keep It Simple! Says.. Melissa

Welcome back to our special edition of showcasing creative and inspirational rooms!  We have featured several enormously talented artists; interior decorators, chefs, graphic designers, marketing gurus, blog geniuses, chic mammas.. we have displayed quite a group of talent!  

It is Monday (our dream space feature day) and I would like to introduce you to a superbly gifted interior decorator consultant,  -  Melissa of Inspired Room.  She is as creative as they get when it comes to discovering inspiration in creating a comfortable living space!

I just love the fact that Melissa's vision for creating a room is to discover how to get to the place where you love LIVING in you home.  Melissa's describes her work best.. "I began to help others create rooms that were not only inspired by their family’s own passions, interests and experiences in life but also to create rooms to inspire them to live more fully and intentionally.  My motto became “when life inspires your home, your home will inspire your life.” I felt such a strong connection to the way our homes inspire our life, I wanted to share my passion with others. Thus, the concept of “the inspired room” was born."  I know... she is awesome!  To give you an idea of her decorating skills check out her new home! Stunning.

Melissa has graciously agreed to participate in our weekly dream spaces post featuring one of our prints and then creating a room around the inspired piece of art!  She has chosen one of our favs to create her inspired room with My House Modern, this is a great print ~  it comes in 3 sizes!! an 11x14, 20x30 and a huge 30x40!!

Of course we didn't stop there ~ we first created the print in gray with a yellow house and then added a beautiful turquoise to fit the perfect place in your room.

Not that the titles of my blog posts are all that snappy anyway.  But I was totally blank.  So I just decided to go with that:) 

I would like to introduce you to Jill today.   She authors an amazing fashion blog where she writes that she is
