You are My Sunshine - I know its not a hymn - but its a classic and beloved folk song with extra special meaning to me as we often describe our youngest one's personality as "all sunshine and rainbows"  all the time.  She loves this song and loves to sing it to us.  And anybody else who will listen:)

It is Well  It is well with my soul . . True that and Amen.

Urban Soul - Giveaway #1

Right now in my house, I have it all - the whole collection.  One of each piece of the Urban Soul line by RedLetterWords for Demdaco!!  It is fabulous!  Made of metal and wood with cool rivets - I LoVe LoVe LoVe everything about it.  I cannot even put into words how Amazed and Humbled I feel to be writing this blog post.  God has taken this hobby, my creative outlet where all I wanted to do was glorify Him in my spare time and through the awesome team at Demdaco has turned it into this amazing product line that will reach so many people.   I will be forever grateful to them for seeing something in what I do that could become something like this. 

And I am forever Thankful that

Holiday Print and Candle Winner!

Wow!  I am overwhelmed, amazed and beyond Blessed at all your comments!  I read each and every one of them:)  So many of you said the first thing you do is  -

Play Christmas music!! - one of our traditions every year was picking out a new Christmas cd (yes, I realize that I just totally dated myself:) - but we have been married 17 years! - So now my husband compiles a new playlist every year!  Then -

#41 - Jami said My stylist tells me that I have "wig hair"...unless I spend 20 minutes blow drying and 30 minutes with my flat iron. It's auburn, long, super thick, and resembles Guinea pig fur in the morning. No bangs except for annoying sprigs of hair that are growing back (and towards Jesus, I might add). The extra hormones from the twins caused me to lose half of it for 8 months after they were born and it's slowly growing back. Oh well, at least my eyebrows didn't fall out. Ha! But we are still celebrating . . . .

I love candles.  I love lighting a good smelling candle at night after dinner.  Its relaxing to me.  And if the candle happens to be in a pretty jar?  I'm all in. I had some candle samples made of different sizes and glass types and scents to match a few of my favorite prints.  I am thinking of offering them for the holiday season! 

This I Can Do All things through Christ candle smells like Gingered Jasmine.  Oh my, its fabulous.

The Rubies candle smells like Citrus and Sage.  This is fabulous's little sister.  Do you like the clear glass or the frosted glass?  I am leaning towards the frosted.  It looks prettier when it is lit.

Either way this book is for you!  Dr. Don and his wife Susan are great friends with an amazing ministry - teaching bible health.  Their mission is to share God's simple and effective biblical health plan with as many people as possible!   In the book, Dr. Don outlines 10 keys to better health.  The first one is Learn to Relax like the Lord!!  - We all want to relax - but do we?  really?  And how do we do it?  Dr. Don says we need to Four-Six it.  The biblical answer to stress relief is outlined in Philippians 4:6 - In nothing be anxious but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 

I love this verse!  I now tell myself whenever I start feeling those anxious feelings  - Dee you need to Four-Six this right now!  In fact, I was talking about this verse just a few weeks ago with my friend Lisa who said that Philippians 4:6 is her life verse.

But we are still celebrating . . . .

I first met Mela in Minneapolis where we were both drooling over Lisa Leonard's Jewelry.  Well maybe she wasn't drooling, but I was.  Anyway we talked for a bit about what we did and she told me she was a singer and songwriter and gave me her cd.  Then she told me the name of her ministry . . .

and I had to ask her . .  because I don't have all of scripture memorized:) . . . which 4:10?  She said 1 Peter 4:10 which says

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.

Oh Wow!  is that ever powerful?  I LOVE that scripture!  I LOVe that Mela not only knows exactly What her gift is, but is passionate about using her gift to serve others.  And what a gift she has.  My daughter said she sounds like an angel singing.   And I think she is right:)

A little more background from Mela's site - Mela is a thirty-something Mom of three, former PR person and creativity junkie who stunned everyone when she decided to become a singer/songwriter two years ago. She didn't grow up going to church or singing in choirs, but that past only added fuel to her fire to stop wasting time and start singing praises.

She wrote & recorded her debut CCM album, Summer in My Soul, in four short months, releasing it in the Summer of 2009. Since then, she's been traveling to churches, festivals, women's ministry events and girls' retreats with her unique blend of music, humor and inspiration.

She and her husband (a commercial photographer) started 4:10 Ministries based on 1 Peter 4:10, which says "Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms." She considers it an absolute delight to share her gifts through her stories and songs. Mela encourages others to discover their gifts and to develop and use them across the street and across the world.  Summer in My Soul is available on iTunes and Indieheaven.com. She's currently working on her next album and conquering the clutter at home.
