Very Merry Christmas Giveaway!!!

We are so blessed!  What a beautiful time of year.. the time of year when we reflect on God's great love for us and how thankful and blessed we are all year long due to his gracious love for us!!!  We celebrate Christmas and the birth of Jesus our Savior!  We love to give gifts and find any opportunity to spread The Word in anyway possible!

We have a treat for you!  We are doing a giveaway with another fabulous artist Josh of Dad's Wooden Toys Josh is blessed with the talent of wood working!!  Yes!  He carves and crafts wooden toys and figurines that are just amazing!!  I love his Noah's Ark And Animal Set and the Walnut Animal Figurine ~ where he uses different types of wood like dark walnut!! We asked a few questions about how Josh got started with wood working, here is what he has to say!!

What inspires you?
My kids and their love for all of God's creatures
inspired most of the toys that my shop features
I want for my kids to actively play
so I avoid toys they would just watch most the day
When you give kids a toy that's hand made
it changes slightly how it gets played.
The toy is a toy but also a reminder
their mind is the actual toy and fun finder
the toy teaches kids that the things they may need
aren't always bought on a treadmill of greed
instead one must give their thinker a chance
to find the solution for their circumstance 

What got you started working with wooden toys?
When my wife and I went searching to find
toys that were natural and good for the mind
The toys every where made noise and light
but I think the kids not the toys should be bright
I decided I'd just have to make some instead
Dads Wooden Toys is where all of that led
I started with toys for just my kids
and getting from friends occasional bids
"Your toys should be on Etsy online"
said some whose advice was almost Divine

He is so talented he even rhymes his responses ~ talented with wood and words!!!   I Love Love Love that this nativity set can be played with and rearranged and I don't have to be concerned with anything breaking!!  It is designed to be PLAYED WITH:)  What better way to talk to your kids about the Christmas story than while playing with a nativity set??

Beauty In Her Heart And In Her Home!

Happy Day!  

We are so excited to feature todays dream room with you!  Traci from Beneath My Heart has graciously shared her dream space with us!  Traci is a pro at making blah... Beautiful!  She is such an inspiration to so many.. she has dedicated her site to teaching us practical lessons on really great stuff like how to transform a simple room into a  Master Bedroom Makeover *** fab** she even teaches us how to bake ....hold your breath.....Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins okay.. exhale!!!  I am making these tonight..

One of the cornerstones to what inspires Traci is her belief in striving for a beautiful heart as she encourages us to join together to strive to follow Him and His plan for our lives.  I love this verse Traci expressed as having an impact on her life and what is truly important in the eyes of our Lord!

Holiday Print and Candle Winner!

Wow!  I am overwhelmed, amazed and beyond Blessed at all your comments!  I read each and every one of them:)  So many of you said the first thing you do is  -

Play Christmas music!! - one of our traditions every year was picking out a new Christmas cd (yes, I realize that I just totally dated myself:) - but we have been married 17 years! - So now my husband compiles a new playlist every year!  Then -

Love Anything Creative?

We LOVE anything creative!  Whether through color, words, construction or just overall brilliantly unique..there are so many ways to be creative and we so appreciate the unique gifts God has given each of us.

It is time to debut another wonderfully decorated dream room done by the talented Miss Traci of Ordinary Inspirations .  She has inspired us through words, recipes, crafts and overall life tips! Like How To Please Your Husband ..... what a great list of suggestions! :)  

Traci chose three of our prints and demonstrated how lovely and creative you can easily make a wall into an inspiration piece!  My House Modern is gorgeous in gray and turquoise.. we love the size of the print being one of our larger rectangle prints it comes in 3 sizes!! an 11x14, 20x30 and a huge 30x40!!.. this is coupled with two smaller square prints Hope Is An Anchor To The Soul (which also comes with a pretty yellow flower) and Two Are Better Than One.  

The contrast of gray and blue in the prints along with creatively using different print sizes works so well in this room to add dimension!  It is understated and elegant.  Traci is wonderfully creative..

Keep It Simple! Says.. Melissa

Welcome back to our special edition of showcasing creative and inspirational rooms!  We have featured several enormously talented artists; interior decorators, chefs, graphic designers, marketing gurus, blog geniuses, chic mammas.. we have displayed quite a group of talent!  

It is Monday (our dream space feature day) and I would like to introduce you to a superbly gifted interior decorator consultant,  -  Melissa of Inspired Room.  She is as creative as they get when it comes to discovering inspiration in creating a comfortable living space!

I just love the fact that Melissa's vision for creating a room is to discover how to get to the place where you love LIVING in you home.  Melissa's describes her work best.. "I began to help others create rooms that were not only inspired by their family’s own passions, interests and experiences in life but also to create rooms to inspire them to live more fully and intentionally.  My motto became “when life inspires your home, your home will inspire your life.” I felt such a strong connection to the way our homes inspire our life, I wanted to share my passion with others. Thus, the concept of “the inspired room” was born."  I know... she is awesome!  To give you an idea of her decorating skills check out her new home! Stunning.

Melissa has graciously agreed to participate in our weekly dream spaces post featuring one of our prints and then creating a room around the inspired piece of art!  She has chosen one of our favs to create her inspired room with My House Modern, this is a great print ~  it comes in 3 sizes!! an 11x14, 20x30 and a huge 30x40!!

Of course we didn't stop there ~ we first created the print in gray with a yellow house and then added a beautiful turquoise to fit the perfect place in your room.  

Here Melissa demonstrates her top decorating tips for all of us to follow ..

1.  Use neutral colors with a pop of color

3.   Add an element of surprise with the driftwood end tabl

Let me indulge you in the specifics.. it's a two-day shopping event!! - homes in the tour are located in Grandville, Byron Center, East Grand Rapids areas.  We love all the local artists participating this year.. they are super talented!  Each home has different artists with all kinds of wonderful creations - here are a few!

Cathy Green Pottery ~ her pottery is gorgeous!  Perfect for serving dishes for dinner parties or just as an extra accessory in the table setting.

Another fave of mine is Juicy Christians jewelry.. so beautiful!  I just love her necklaces, what a gifted designer.. she has such an eye for detail..got to have one of these!  

Another amazing artist is Susan Cappon who will be featuring her adorable Smitten Mittens like these...

I Am Thankful for Fall!

So I just moved back to Michigan from southern California and I can not tell you how much I missed the seasons and the beautiful colors of Fall!  I love to dress with jackets and boots and have something more in my closet then havaianas, hoodies, tanks and shorts : ) Fall is a time of year where we get together with family and friends to celebrate togetherness and what we are so very thankful for... each other Amen!  

This year is very special for me as I am able to spend a lot of time close to my family and friends at home! Here at Red Letter Words we are dedicating a time to feature various artists and creative people of many walks to express themselves in creating dream spaces.  We are so very thankful for the creativity the Lord has blessed all of us with in a unique and surprising ways.... One of our Fall prints Be Thankful and say so to Him is perfect to hang in your home!  We thank Him everyday .. check out these cozy rooms ~ especially adorned with my sweet chocolate lab Scout!

Decorchick Does Big Things ~

We can not say enough great things about Emily of DecorChick! 

Look at this dreamy space Emily wowed us with!! -  the creams, yellows and grays with the splash of black and purple... magnifico this is so well put together!  I just love the combination of the Keep Calm And Carry On print with the set of New York City prints ~ so retro and chic!  The combination of prints in this room is perfect.  We create prints with similar colors and color combinations so they coordinate well with each other.  We also like adding color through the use of Color Options  to add something unique to your wall which adds to the look of the room!

Emily is a pro at demonstrating colors and contrasts and this room shows off her loveliness.... She has so many creative talents... she even knows how to Paint Furniture The Right Way not an easy task believe me I tried it once.. got so frustrated I resorted to buying a piece from Ikea (the built painted one on display)... and oh my... she sure knows how to transform and ordinary room into something absolutely darling!  You do big things Emily, thank you for sharing your fab room with us!
