Here is the story behind Together.
We are on an adventure this semester! Ever since our kids were little . . for 12 years now. . my husband and I have prayed about taking an extended time away with our kids. To experience something different. To provide opportunities for changes and choices and lifestyles and futures.
To be Together for an extended time experiencing life in a different way than our normal pace.
When the kids were littler we didn't know exactly what that would look like . . . maybe an RV trip across the country? We dreamt about that for awhile! As they got older, we started asking each other more frequently . . WHEN are we going to do that? There was always something, sombeody starting kindergarten, busy work schedules, somebody starting junior high, busy life. As time went on, we started to realize that we were waiting for the perfect conditions, everything just right. And the realization that there was never going to be the perfect conditions and that
The time was now.
We started making serious plans. Just like any big decision, we took small steps first and made sure we had peace. What are the desires of our hearts? What have we been praying about all these years? Our family Loves, and I mean Loves the beach. Everything about it. The sandcastles, the waves, the walks, the sound, the smell, Everything.
The dream became clearer. A rental house. Close to the beach. Allows a small dog. Enough room for 4 kids. Reliable internet connection - this was a necessity! We homeschool and run 2 businesses and we are not on vacation (even though it feels like it with the palm trees:)
I am excited to tell you that God has led us to the most beautiful place I have ever been. We arrived in Southern California January 1. He has over and abundantly provided every desire of our heart - we can walk to the beach, there is a fenced yard, 4 bedrooms and get this .. He knows I love to cook . . the landlord is a chef so there is an herb garden, lime and lemon trees!! We can walk to a Farmer's Market every week! - in the winter!!! I cried. God is so good!!! But guess what? - the funny thing is. . my husband has rediscovered his passion for cooking and is teaching our son how to cook, so I have hardly cooked at all!
